Awesome job. I donated what little funds I had left in my paypal account. It's not much, but I'd feel guilty for playing this update for free.

Hmm, should be live on Desura. I patched it yesterday. You could grab the stand alone version from the updates page. Your key will work there too.

You probably won't even need a key in that instance if you've already registered it. The Desura install is basically an entirely stand-alone instance. Just install the "update" from the web-page to a new location; I did and didn't have to enter the key.

i must say that i was also very excited waiting for the updates.
i played SPAZ a lot, and finished all the achievements on Steam (never played on expert actually. after finishing on normal i just jumped to insane level and both the "expert" and "insane" achievements were activated when i finished on insane). Sadly i lost my save, since i never used the save game feature, just the "continue". but then i started a new game to show it to a friend and lost my "continue" save lol.
anyway, since i will probably have to start the game again on insane lvl, i have some questions:

This new challenge/arena mode feature (alleluia), it says that theres different difficulties, i want to know if this difficulty is also changed (a plus) by the starting difficulty level you chose (in my case, im going on insane lvl).
Another thing is why most of the weaponary is going to be weaker than before? Most of it the boosters, in my opinion they should have increased power, not decreased. i dont know if im going to use it anymore. anyway.. lets see how it goes..

Thanks! im waiting for the answers before starting my game.

Arena difficulty usually effects your tech level vs your opponents tech level. In lots of cases you have totally different ships in bronze, vs silver, vs gold. In all cases the arena events are tuned with specific values, and do not change at all with the overall game difficulty. An arena event on Insane is the same as it would be on Casual.

The bounty hunter ships look so odd compared to the rest of the humans, like they've been dumped in our universe from some far-off dimension. I love it.
