An additional couple of points that might prove informative...

1. playing without wingmen seems to significantly delay the onset of the 1fps problem
2. once the problem has occurred the 'research points remaining' indicator's throbbing is completely smooth and seemingly not subject to the problem

Does that help narrow down which game loop(s) are having problems, maybe?

Hello everyone. I got the same issue, with framerate going down to 1 or 2 fps. It happened during fight but doesn't came back when everything was quiet (I'm not yet at the zombies part of the game). I have tried many things : swapping videos cards, drivers, antivirus, and so on... And finally, i found the cause. It was my motherboard's sound chipset (nforce2 chipset). I disabled it in the BIOS and plugged a basic PCI c-media sound card (and installed the drivers of course). The game runs smooth now, at max 60 fps most of the time.

So, it can be worth a try if someone have this problem too.

(and by the way, good job devs, nice game. Hope to see more updates.)

I was bitten by this twice, but it does not happen all the time. A bit unsettling to see a 2010 17-inch MacBook Pro slow to a crawl like this. It only happened after having the game running for several hours.
GeForce 330M, 2.5GHz Core i5, 8GB RAM.

I thought it could be related to the 512MB video RAM an am now playing as 1680x1050. So far I have not hit the bug, but I can't confirm if I have been just lucky.
